Prince of Persia, The Movie!

Disney is about to create the first installment in a Prince of Persia Trilogy. The first movie is Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Jake Gyllenhaal was just set as the male lead taking the character of Prince Daston.
Work for Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time begins on June 19 at U.K.-based Pinewood Studios, with location work in Morocco.
I’ve personally been a fan of Prince of Persia since the game was initially launched. This is a very exciting development in terms of game adaptations especially when you look at all the 1980’s cult series, cartoons and movies being re-made. Even the A-team is being re-done with a look at Bruce Willis taking the role of Hannibal “I love it when a plan comes together” Smith. I just love this stuff.

When I first played Prince of Persia it was on an IBM AT 286 Home PC with a 10MB hard drive, an astonishing 256k RAM, a CGA monitor and no soundcard (just the motherboards beeper).
This is how the game looked back then…

Get Shot for Real: New Age Force-Feedback Gear

Remember when the Force-Feedback functionality had been instilled in game controllers, where the little touch-pad would shake in your hand… Well, this takes it to a whole new level. TN Games have a vest which hooks up to your console and makes you feel the gun-shots, explosions, finger taps, etc. How cool is that? Imagine playing Call of Duty with this thing and actually getting shot, this is incredible. I can imagine this technology being used for real simulation combat training, I don’t think that’s too far from the truth.
Apparently the vest also works with horror games and the like, where you can feel fingers crawling across you. That would scare the shit out of me, just the thought is making me shiver. Eww.
You have to admit that it is very cool gear though, Happy gaming.
The vest is available from TN Games for $169.

Are You a Hard Core Gamer or Casual Gamer?
by Muhammad on February 7, 2008

Well… which one are you? 8bitrocket has made a manifesto and the term “mid-core gamer”. For people like me who aren’t hard core into gaming, but aren’t exactly casual either…
He writes…
Hardcore gamers consider me a casual gamer and casual gamers consider me a hardcore gamer, so what am I? …In any case, I have decided to call myself a MID-CORE gamer. I have no idea if there is another term for me or the millions like me, but I like this one and I’m sticking to it. I know it’s not CATCHY or SEXY, but it is accurate… I always hear industry people talk about CASUAL and HARDCORE, but never the in betweens like me. I have to search online and bargain bins for games that fit my needs.
Although MJ is most definitely a Hard-core gamer… I’d say I’m between casual and mid-core… making me mid-casual? say what? do we really have to be politically correct about this? Maybe MJ can write a new thesis onthe strata of gamers in modern society to supplement his theses in “Islam and video games” (told you he was hard core)…
Anyway.. my favourite game that I played is Thief II on PC, loved it ever since I played it. My latest completed game is the classic, award-winning, “Another World” and lately I’m playing American McGee’s “Bad Day in L.A.” and “Stolen” which is like a mix of Thief II and Tomb Raider.
so…back to the question…Are you Hard-core, Casual or Mid-core?
