[...] Ramadan in the UK is a bit… different, writes Muhammad Karim, a South African blogger in the UK: “In the UK, specifically here in Epsom, there’s a community as well, albeit a younger, less developed one. So, in essence, it can be a little lonely.” Cancel this reply [...]

Ramadan Kareem. I'm non Muslim but have been living in the Middle East for 7 years now. I also fast most of the day, mostly because the people I work with are Muslim and they are fasting.

I think the Muslims in the Middle East have it a lot easier when fasting then any Muslim in the west. Here everyone is doing it, plus they have shorter working hours during the holy month etc.

Good luck man!

So I don't want to make you feel bad...but heads up, Eid is going to feel even worse. Its the emptiest feeling ever.

I suggest you make a community of friends and socialise more (have iftaar together) etc. Its not the same, trust me I know, but it helps a tiny wee bit. Hope you guys are doing well. And you'll be fine, just takes getting use to.
