I think you should take a look at lifeinlines.com, it enables all the input channels as web/email/IM/sms/mms and even a voice call… plus multiple media – text/images/voice/video.. along with a 5 layer privacy and friend grouping system..

Thanks to Pieter I also discovered Numpa (dutch microblog (www.numpa.nl). The nice thing there is its APi and simultaneous posting on Twitter and Jaiku.

I’m betatesting this microblog and it has some real nice features, especially going far beyond 140 characters, permalinking and supporting all languages I can think of (including even Russian).

I hope the official launch will come soon. Normally in a few weeks at last like foreseen.

We as an application developers are strict believers in open source, and most of our website is based on very high quality open source libraries.
