o The importance of internet privacy and protection is more important now than ever. With the increase in censorship and Reporters without Borders naming “13 Enemies of the Internet,” people need to keep tight security on everything from their passwords to which websites they visit. With many websites, such as Wikipedia, being banned in some of the more conservative countries, the amount of information available to citizens is becoming scarce. The media is threatened or imprisoned for reporting or sending out press releases about subjects the government feels inappropriate, and private citizens are banned from visiting websites that will allow them to be informed.
    This website
shows different types of censorship and how the governments use them to keep their citizens basically on lock-down. The same site also shows the use of proxy servers and other ways for people to network outside of their borders.
